Materials

I selected local materials and energy efficient appliances to support Denise and Karen’s sustainability goals.

  • Tile made locally at Pratt and Larson reminiscent of the blue tea pot is featured in the back splash. The crackle glaze reminds them of porcelain.

  • Quartz counter tops with post-consumer recycled content in white show off meal prep like their white dishes do the final presentation.

  • The floors will be refinished with low/no VOC stain and sealer in a darker finish to provide contrast between the counter tops and floor.

  • Painted cabinets keep the budget reasonable and no added formaldehyde ensures in-door air quality.

  • Water sense and energy star appliances have been selected. Touchless faucets can meter water cutting down on utility bills.

  • LED pendants that look like teapots save energy.

  • Appliances are from Sub-Zero Wolf and built to last eliminating obsolescence and food waste.
